What we learned in EDTF 300?

First off I would go out and say that EDTF 300 is a course that is going to help me a lot in the future. It is something that has been a tool for all of us too use in the future careers. As an administrator I will now know how to make appropriate business cards and flyer's. I am going to take this class and use everything I learned in here to help me out with future endeavors.

Where do we go for here?

I think we learned honestly how a real NHL franchise is run by all the research that was involved with this project. It showed me all the work that goes into keeping a great organization a float. There are many different things that go into the day to day operations that not many people are aware of. I do like being constantly busy so this is a type of job that I would be interested in for sure in the future.

Why did we pick the Organization we did?

I think all of us are sports fans in general, and most of us are hockey fans. We are all competitve people that love competing in no matter what it may be. Sports have always been a release valve from school work, so combinding these two things was something every one in our group was interested in. The Flyers are great organization, winning tradtion and quality people in management was the main reason we selected them.

Presentation Plan

This was a packet we got done earlier in the semester of what are goals and objectives were for this organizataion. In the packet we included some stuff we would put onto or website and our blogs later into the semster. Now looking back at it we followed this plan pretty well, I thought it was a good tool because it was a guidline for different things we had to get done as a group.

Thoughts on presentation

I thought the presentation went very smoothly, we didn't have any major problems when putting together our presentation.  Not all of our group members decided to show up which was unfortunate, but all the people that were there contributed too the group. We didn't have any trouble in the Raub computer lab uploading anything. I think all of us were pleased how the presentation went, and have no complaints about it.

Preparing for the final presentation

What did we plan on presenting for the final presentation......

  • Booklet
  • Power point slides
  • Team web site
  • Team Blog
  • Video
  • Conclusion for the class

PODCAST SCRIPT

—        The Philadelphia Flyers are a professional ice hockey team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the NHL and are the current Eastern Conference Champions. Part of the 1967 Expansion, the Flyers were the first non-Original Six team to win the Stanley Cup, victorious in 1973-74 and again in 1974-75.
—        The Flyers' all-time winning percentage of .576 (as of the end of the 2009–10 season) is the second best in the NHL, behind only the Montreal Canadiens' .591 winning percentage. Additionally, the Flyers have the most semifinal/conference final appearances out of all expansion teams (16; winning 8) and the most playoff appearances out of all expansion teams (35 out of 43 seasons).
—        The Flyers have played their home games on Broad Street, and became known as The Broad Street Bullies, since their inception, first at The Spectrum from 1967 until 1996, and then at the Wells Fargo Center from 1996 to the present.
—        The Flyers have had rivalries with several teams over the years. Historically, their biggest rivals have been the New York Rangers, with whom the Flyers have had many brawls and playoff match-ups over the years; the New Jersey Devils, whom they faced four times in the playoffs since 1995, and with whom they traded the Atlantic Division title every season between 1995 and 2007; and their cross-state rivals the Pittsburgh Penguins.
—        Who do we reach out too?
—        The Philadelphia Community
—        Flyers fight for wives charity
—        Comcast Sector charities.
—        Owner: Jon Engroff
—        General Manager: Kevin Berger
—        Facilities Manager: Ryan Crowther
—        Brent Kepner-Ticket Sales
—        We are a successful organization, that looks to help the community out.  To continue our success, we need to keep good leadership up at the top.

VIDEO

Video presentation was set up as a press conference... Using movie maker was not a very hard process at all. I am familiar with the program because I used it in previous classes. In my opinion it is a great tool to use for any type of video editing. For future reference I would suggest that anyone should use it.
